Eternal security, also known as the doctrine of “once saved, always saved,” is the belief that those who have truly accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior can never lose their salvation. This doctrine is based on the idea that salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned or taken away, and that the believer’s faith in Jesus is the only requirement for salvation. According to this belief, once a person has truly accepted Jesus Christ, they are sealed by the Holy Spirit and cannot be separated from the love of God. The Bible is used to support this doctrine, with verses such as John 10:28-29 and Romans 8:38-39 cited as evidence that once a person is saved, they are eternally secure in their salvation.
